Is Your Dentist On Our PPO Plan?

We get this question a lot. Many companies now offer 2 types of insurance plans to their employees. A regular indemnity insurance plan and a lower cost Preferred Provider Plan. What is the difference? A regular indemnity plan allows the patient to see any dentist they so choose while a Preferred Provider Plan only allows the patient to see certain dentists that have signed up under the PPO. Be careful! Preferred sounds good and conjures up images of a dentist that is somehow “Preferred” but all it means is these particular dentists just agree to a much lower fee for their services. Think about that. Do you really think that a dentist can provide good quality care when his fees have been cut by 45%? Do you think he can use high quality materials and labs when this discounted fee barely covers the cost of materials? And finally, which patient will get his undivided attention – the one who is paying the full fee or the one who is getting the 45% discount?

Unfortunately, PPO plans do not allow the Dentist to use the latest technology or the best materials and labs. There is a saying, “Be wary of discounts in Dentistry and Life Preservers.” You get what you pay for.

In our office we only use the best materials along with the latest technology. Our labs are second to none. This ensures that all of our patients get the best dentistry available today! If you have any questions please feel free to call and I will personally help you with your insurance questions.

Sincerely,
